Plant Cost Accountant

Opportunity

The Finance/Accounting team is seeking a driven, detail‑oriented professional to exercise GAAP principles while preserving the superior financial standing of our $15B company. The role focuses on financial analysis, month‑end close, cost roll‑up, and plant reporting.

• Perform weekly and quarterly standard cost roll‑up functions.
• Complete corporate month‑end close tasks and adhere to the close schedule.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Compile weekly and monthly operations finance reports for distribution.
• Manage Bill of Material (BOM) audits and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
• Communicate with plants on audit progress and policy compliance.
• Enter and maintain BOM and routing information for new products.
• Maintain and create Raw/WIP codes and all market quote codes.
• Reconcile GR/IR clearings.
• Manage daily Co‑Pack invoice processing.
• Maintain account mapping.
• Support plant close activities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university and at least 2+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Food industry/meat‑related experience (preferred).
• SAP experience (preferred).
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to complete projects accurately and on time.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to work well with others in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Respectful, approachable, and team‑oriented with a commitment to building strong working relationships.

The majority of the time is spent in an office setting outside of the production plant. Plant environments may include wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. Noise levels are moderate but can be loud in the production area. Occasional lifting and moving up to 25 pounds may be required. Specific vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Salary Range: $55,000 – $83,125
