Job Description
The Merchant Payment Services (MPS) Risk Advisory role is tasked with providing risk support to the MPS North America revenue organization. This individual will build strong relationships with the respective teams, including leadership, and other Risk/Compliance/Audit professionals and managers to ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations.
The Risk Advisor’s primary responsibilities include ensuring their assigned areas have an adequate control framework in place and operate within those boundaries, providing training to staff, and engaging with senior managers through advanced presentation, relationship building, and negotiation skills. The position may also have occasional exposure to regulatory agencies.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Typically more than six years of applicable experience
- Extensive knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact the assigned line of business
- In-depth understanding of the business line’s operations, products, services, systems, and associated risks and controls
- Comprehensive knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies
- Strong analytical, process facilitation, and project management skills
- Effective presentation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Effective relationship building and negotiation skills - Proficient computer navigation skills using Microsoft Office and related software packages
- Applicable professional certifications
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule with an expectation of at least three in‑office days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office the remaining days.
