Financial Manager, CFO
Compensation: $85,000 – $100,000 base salary + bonus potential

Location / Work Structure: Cincinnati, Ohio, onsite 5 days a week
Client Overview: Vernovis is partnering with a $10M services‑based company with ~30 employees, aiming to scale 5x over the next five years. Looking for a hands‑on finance leader to serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and help build the financial infrastructure needed for rapid, sustainable growth.

What You'll Do:- Act as the primary financial partner to the CEO and leadership team, driving insights and supporting strategic decisions
- Own the monthly close, financial reporting, and overall accuracy of financial statements
- Manage invoicing (up to 100 per week) and maintain clear visibility into cash flow
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and KPI development to support growth objectives
- Oversee outsourced payroll, tax, and compliance functions
- Manage commission calculations and partner with sales leadership on performance and profitability
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and financial reporting
- Support scaling efforts by building a strong financial foundation and future team structure
- 5+ years of progressive experience across accounting and finance
- Strong command of financial statements, close processes, and forecasting
- Experience operating in a hands‑on or standalone finance role
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data
- Ability to work both strategically and tactically in a fast‑paced environment
- Experience in a services or project‑based business
- Exposure to commission structures or sales‑driven financial models
- Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to improve efficiency and reporting
