The Fiscal Analyst is responsible for supporting the daily financial, payroll, and administrative operations of the Township. This position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and the ability to maintain organized financial and employee records while ensuring compliance with Township, State, and federal guidelines. The Fiscal Analyst reports directly to the Fiscal Officer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Accounts Payable & Financial Operations
  • Prepare purchase orders as requested by department heads.
  • Maintain vendor and contract files in an organized and accurate manner.
  • Review and verify invoices to ensure proper amounts, correct account coding, and timely payment processing.
  • Prepare, process, and mail payments.
  • Initiate and maintain Positive Pay.
  • Enter receipts into the accounting system accurately and timely.
  • Prepare and process bank deposits.
  • Perform fund analysis and financial reporting to assist with monitoring Township finances and budget activity.
  • Maintain records retention in accordance with State of Ohio and Township requirements.
Payroll Administration
  • Review employee timesheets for accuracy and supervisor approval.
  • Process and enter payroll information accurately and timely.
  • Identify and correct payroll discrepancies and errors.
  • Issue payroll vouchers and maintain records of employee earnings and deductions.
  • Transmit electronic funds transfer (EFT) payroll files.
  • Maintain employee leave records and balances.
  • Reconcile payroll deductions and prepare required payroll reports.
  • Process payroll taxes and other required deductions in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Process OPERS and OP&F payments and reports in accordance with retirement requirements.
  • Implement and track qualified overtime in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll and personnel information.
Administrative Support
  • Assist the Fiscal Officer with reports, meeting minutes, spreadsheets, and other administrative projects as needed.
  • Maintain organized filing systems and administrative records.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Fiscal Office.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Fiscal Officer.
