Job Summary
The Senior Tax Associate leads preparation of complex tax returns and supports tax planning and advisory engagements while supervising and mentoring junior team members. This role serves as a key technical resource, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of tax services in accordance with firm standards.
Essential Functions- Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and business entities
- Supervise, review, and provide guidance to Tax Associates and Interns
- Perform advanced tax research and summarize conclusions and recommendations
- Assist with tax planning, projections, and client advisory matters
- Communicate directly with clients regarding tax information requests and issues
- Support training and development initiatives within the tax practice
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field
- CPA license or active progress toward CPA licensure
- Strong knowledge of federal income tax and related compliance requirements
- Experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office applications
- Public accounting experience with multi‑entity or complex client structures
- Experience with tax planning or specialized tax areas
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
- Ability to analyze complex tax matters, exercise professional judgment, and manage multiple priorities
- On‑Site
- Limited travel, if any
- Moderate noise level typical of a professional office environment
