GENERAL FUNCTION:
Responsible for the execution of highly complex financial analysis and business improvement in support of all capital adequacy processes, including Comprehensive Capital Analysis & Review (CCAR), and enterprise-wide stress testing. Serving as a financial leader to all Fifth Third Bancorp lines of business, this position will play a key role in Fifth Third's capital planning processes. Focus on providing value-added analysis and process improvement recommendations to support Capital Planning, as well as quality assurance and business controls support.
Leads the education and development of less experienced staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Leads peers in the identification of key business factors (both internal and external) that impact capital planning processes. Maintains an up-to-date knowledge base to keep current on existing and emerging industry issues.
Collection, aggregation, and analysis of forecasted financials and supporting documentation from the across the Bancorp.
Plays a lead role in documentation of financial plans and analysis in a format appropriate for meetings with senior management. Evaluates and improves design of reports and processes to ensure that analytical tools evolve as business changes.
Prepares and analyzes reports for all lines of business and affiliates. Investigates and documents unusual items.
Plays a lead role in the execution of financial analysis and in driving business results. Develops trend analyses and other quantitative reports to determine business trends.
Establishes, fosters and maintains working relationships with Finance, Risk and LOB personnel contributing to execution of enterprise-wide capital planning activities.
Maintains an up-to-date knowledge base to keep current on existing and emerging industry issues.
Design solutions aimed at optimizing effectiveness/efficiency of enterprise policies/procedures. Is an active participant in process improvement and problem resolution issues.
Participates in complex process improvement initiatives to drive consistency & sustainability within capital planning.
Support compliance w/regulatory guidance on internal control environments for CCAR, CAP, & Dodd-Frank Act Stress Testing (DFAST).
Manages the documentation of financial plans and analysis in a format appropriate for meetings with senior management. Performs maintenance on existing schedules and reports for changes to information.
Attends meetings with peers to maintain knowledge of current and emerging issues and risks in respective focus areas.
Provides training and guidance to less experienced analysts.
Allocates work and reviews work of less experienced staff.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides guidance to less experienced staff, but no direct supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUMKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree required. MBA or CPA preferred. Thorough knowledge of GAAP strongly desired.
Typically requires minimum of seven years of accounting or finance related experience in industry or public accounting.
Must have breadth of knowledge and experience in all lines of business within Bancorp.
Proficient with MS-Windows and other related PC applications.
Possess the desire and ability to learn mainframe applications, and automated data analysis tools and techniques.
This position requires excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills necessary to interact with personnel ranging from clerical staff to more senior management.
Demonstrated proficiency in performance measurement tools and technology.
Ability to work both individually and as a member of a team.
