Position Summary

The Director of Finance is responsible for all financial aspects of the operating company and establishing the proper control environment. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President and General Manager, the Director reviews all areas of the business to look for opportunities for margin, efficiency, utilization, and cost improvements. This person directs, plans, and manages the day-to-day, weekly, and monthly accounting activities that produce the monthly financial reports.

Key duties include month-end close and reporting, ad-hoc reporting, monthly analysis of results, and management of working capital. The Director is a member of the executive team overseeing annual budgeting, reforecasting, and reviewing pricing and costing actions to improve company performance.

Job Responsibilities
  • Direct, plan, and manage the day-to-day, weekly, and monthly accounting activities required to produce the monthly financial statements. Proactively manage the company’s financial aspects and provide recommendations on key financial issues within Duravant guidelines.
  • Perform the monthly close process for the operating company and report results to management and corporate office.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the annual Business Plan and Financial Forecasts.
  • Institute and maintain planning and control procedures, analyze and report variances.
  • Coordinate the financial aspects of the annual strategic plans.
  • Analyze operating results and make recommendations to eliminate non-value-added activities and improve profitability.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate product costing.
  • Develop recommendations to improve profitability across projects, parts, and service/support to support company growth targets.
  • Support and validate the financial justification for capital appropriation requests, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and ROI expectations.
  • Analyze and support initiatives to optimize working capital, ensuring effective cash flow, inventory, and operational liquidity.
  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring financial and operating performance.
  • Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and forecasts.
  • Prepare financial analysis for negotiations and product investment decisions.
  • Research and stay informed of all applicable accounting and fiscal management laws, ensuring full compliance.
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Communicate and report fiscal matters proactively to executive team, internal customers, and external customers.
  • Provide financial advisory support to business managers (FP&A).
  • Analyze profitability of new product launches, provide commercial finance support, and develop monthly management reports on business line performance.
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and mentor/coach/train team members.
  • Maintain financial procedures and controls for accounting operations.
  • Work with external auditors to prepare and complete the annual audit in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 8–10 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with ERP systems, financial consolidation applications, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Fluent in project and business terminology and practices.
  • Ability to influence senior management and lead change.
  • Strong background in project operations.
