OverviewThe Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for discussing members’ needs, recommending the best loan products, and helping members put together complete loan submissions to be sent to the Mortgage Processors.
Essential Responsibilities- Assist mortgage loan borrowers to determine their needs and recommend the most beneficial loan products, while advising them throughout the entire loan process. Assist members with inquiries pertaining to Refinance, Purchase, Construction/Rehab, Secondary Market and FHA/VA loans.
- Assist members to determine their needs and recommend the right loan products to help meet their goals.
- Knowledgeable in various kinds of mortgage loans, including FHA and VA loans (preferred).
- Maintain an active knowledge base of all GECU’s loan products and an understanding of the qualifications required of each applicant.
- Prepare initial loan disclosures for member review in accordance with federally regulated deadlines.
- Monitor processing pipeline on a daily basis to ensure required documentation is received in a timely manner.
- Complete GECU required mortgage lending BAI Training sessions.
- Maintain the required MLO designation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least one year of experience in mortgage lending
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to organize and analyze financial information
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
