Overview
The Overdraft Protection Analyst is responsible for the administration of the Courtesy Overdraft program, including communication to members and the collection of negative share accounts. This position also leads ACH, wire transfer, and in‑clearing activities, following policies and procedures to complete day‑to‑day operations.
Essential Responsibilities- Manage the administration of the Courtesy Overdraft program
- Handle all communication related to negative share accounts
- Collect negative share accounts and report charge‑off deposit accounts to Chex Systems
- Create, execute, and monitor repayment plans for negative deposit accounts
- Meet a standard of 30‑40 calls per day
- Review and adhere to Credit Union policies and procedures
- Support ACH, wire transfer, and in‑clearing related transactions
- Adhere to operational controls including applicable laws, rules, and regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, NACHA Rules, Regulation E, and the Uniform Commercial Code
- Identify and resolve problems promptly; work with other departments to solve complex issues
- Build and maintain internal relationships by providing exceptional member service and modeling excellent service standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Understand and comply with all required federal and state regulations
- High School diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2+ years of Credit Union or Banking/FI experience
- Proven knowledge of deposit products and services
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Knowledge of MS Office, including Word and Excel
- Knowledge of DNA is preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive financial information
