General FunctionThis role provides an exceptional customer experience through solution‑based conversation of a full range of Fifth Third banking products and services over the phone. The Consumer Banker II supports existing customers by enhancing relationships in an inbound call center environment and supports the bank's marketing efforts. The employee is responsible for risk by exchanging ideas, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined, ensuring that all actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience while operating within the bank's risk appetite.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Apply knowledge of consumer banking products and financial need assessment tools to create a memorable customer experience and help customers achieve their financial goals.
- Use a consultative approach with current customers to uncover and identify their needs while tailoring recommendations/solutions.
- Maintain a well‑developed, working knowledge of products, services, and processes offered.
- Work collaboratively with internal partners to ensure customers' needs are met.
- Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other related policies, modeling the ethical behavior expected from every employee within the Bancorp.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of customer service or call center experience, or a college degree, or equivalent military experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop comfort with managing customer experience and financial consultation over the phone.
- Ability to professionally represent Fifth Third Bank in verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions.
- Requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS); the NMLS website (mortgage.nationwidelicensingsystem.org) provides the MU4R questions and required registration for employment.
The base salary for this position is reflective of the range for roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
