Job Overview
Financial Administrator 1 is responsible for the assigned financial activities of a business unit within the Natural Sciences division and will execute financial tasks to ensure operational efficiency.
Offers a hybrid work schedule: 3 days in office and 2 days remote for residents within OH/IN/KY after 90 days of training.
Essential Functions- Order supplies for assigned departments using various purchasing software programs.
- Assist with travel expense reporting and guide faculty and students to adhere to the process.
- Answer Concur questions in adherence with the Travel Policy of travelers.
- Process cash advances in Concur in adherence with UC policy.
- Process invoices to ensure timely payment and correct account coding.
- Process Personal Services Contracts & Limited Services Engagement forms in adherence with UC policy.
- Perform related duties based on departmental need.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
- Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or specialized training can be used in lieu of the education requirement.
Related finance or accounting experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered- Experience working in higher education.
- MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions).
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience working with internal and external customers and partners.
