Student Accounts Specialist, Bursar Operations
Serve in a cross-functional capacity for Bursar Operations and Bursar Loans & Collections. Applications must include a cover letter to be considered.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor, review and examine documents that involve complex transactions for accuracy and prepare any necessary corrections.
- Audit ledgers for accuracy and prepare any necessary corrections.
- Reconcile ledger controls on a regular basis with a detailed analysis of discrepancies.
- Perform internal auditing of financial records.
- Recommend accounting and control systems.
- Evaluate and process payments, such as tuition, scholarships and third-party contract payments.
- Field internal customer service inquiries from university departments to resolve payment issues.
- Address vendor inquires and work with vendor to resolve.
- Gather data for reporting related to key performance indicators.
- Develop program objectives and monitor quantitative and qualitative data on progress toward objectives.
- Analyze, investigate, and respond to requests for loan and tuition account balance information.
- Act as a liaison to collection agencies, bankruptcy courts, federal agencies, and university departments.
- May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
- Perform related duties based on departmental need.
