The University of Cincinnati seeks an Executive Director of Finance for the College of Medicine to lead comprehensive financial strategy and operations. This role oversees budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year financial planning across academic, research, and clinical programs, ensuring alignment with UC's student-centered, research-driven mission. The Executive Director manages financial reporting, compliance, and risk, while optimizing use of grants, contracts, and clinical revenues.

Partnering with academic and administrative leaders, this position informs strategic decisions, supports capital planning, and leads a high-performing finance team in a collaborative, hybrid work environment with robust university benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial leadership for the College of Medicine aligned with UC's mission and research priorities
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year financial planning for academic and research programs
  • Oversee financial reporting, analysis, and compliance with university, state, and federal regulations
  • Partner with academic, research, and clinical leaders to optimize resource allocation and ROIManage revenue streams, including grants, contracts, and clinical partnerships
  • Develop and implement financial policies, internal controls, and risk management practices
  • Lead and mentor finance staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Support capital planning and major initiatives through financial modeling and business cases
  • Advise senior leadership on financial performance, trends, and strategic opportunities
  • Collaborate with central finance and external stakeholders to enhance transparency and stewardship
