Financial Aid Advisor, Enrollment Management

The Financial Aid Advisor I supports the administration of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs by processing student financial aid records and assisting students throughout the financial aid process. This entry-level position works as part of a specialized processing team, supporting either student loans or grant programs while learning financial aid regulations, university policies, and operational procedures. The Financial Aid Advisor I reviews student records, processes financial aid transactions, maintains accurate documentation, and assists with resolving routine financial aid issues.

This position collaborates with campus partners to ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial aid while providing quality customer service to students and families.

Essential Functions

  • Process financial aid applications and student records in accordance with federal, state, institutional, and university policies.
  • Perform specialized processing activities related to assigned program areas such as institutional, state, or federal student loans or grant programs.
  • Review student records to determine eligibility for financial aid and identify missing or incomplete information.
  • Communicate with students regarding financial aid requirements, eligibility, and next steps through written and verbal communication.
  • Respond to routine financial aid questions and provide guidance on university processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and campus partners to resolve student issues and support efficient processing.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to build knowledge of financial aid regulations and university systems.
  • Support office initiatives, peak processing periods, and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Obtain at least 1 FAAC within 1 year upon hire
  • Required

    Education:

    Bachelor's Degree
  • Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
  • Required Experience:

    Three (3) to six (6) months experience in advising in scholarships and financial aid or related field. Experience as an intern or student employee is acceptable.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
