Senior Zoning Plans Examiner – May Underfill

Cincinnati, Ohio

• Starting Pay: $29.28 an hour

• Examines building and site plans for compliance with zoning codes and resolutions using GIS and other plan review software.
• Maintains contact with the general public to provide information and answer questions regarding interpretation of zoning codes and resolutions.
• Prepares and compiles appropriate documentation for issuance of Zoning Certificates and filing with various boards and commissions.
• Issues Zoning Certificates when appropriate.
• Responds to telephone and email inquiries about zoning codes, regulations, application status, and related issues.

For Senior Zoning Plans Examiner:

• Either a bachelor’s degree in urban planning, architecture, engineering, or closely related field, OR 24 months work experience in zoning administration, land use planning, or related field, including experience in complex zoning plan review and code interpretation, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience mentoring staff, providing technical guidance, or serving in a lead capacity on zoning review or enforcement projects.

• Bachelor’s degree in planning or related field, OR 18 months work experience in planning, zoning regulation, or zoning code enforcement, demonstrating knowledge of zoning principles and ability to apply codes, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Full‑time, traditional office hours (details upon hire).
