Police Department Clerk/Dispatcher
The City of Sharonville is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented professional to serve as a Police Department Clerk/Dispatcher. This full-time position plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the Police Department by providing emergency and non-emergency dispatch services, maintaining department records, assisting the public, and ensuring effective communication between officers, emergency responders, and the community.
Wages and benefits are very competitive. The pay rate for newly hired employees will be based on skills, education, job knowledge, and abilities.
Pay Range: $27.70 to $34.20 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:

Essential Functions:
Answer department phones; answer incoming calls; determine nature of calls; gather pertinent information for emergency calls, calm callers, and transmit data to patrol officers via radio or Mobile Data Computer (MDC); answer routine requests for information or route calls to the appropriate person. Maintain official records and assist in the administration of the standard operating policies and procedures of the dispatch areas of responsibility.Maintain radio contact with patrol officers on duty; obtain criminal history and driving status upon request; answer questions; route and relay pertinent information. Dispatch police and other response vehicles for emergency and non-emergency responses; broadcast the nature, location, and time of incidents. Contact all required personnel and other agencies, including the Fire Department, during emergency situations. Call out additional officers and on-call personnel as directed by an on-duty supervisor.Notify supervisory personnel of any emergency situation or condition requiring the reassignment of additional officers to provide for public safety (i.e., major incidents or natural disasters).Serve as the first point of contact for visitors to the Police Department; greet visitors, determine the reason for the visit, provide general information or direct them to the appropriate personnel, notify officials of visitors, and direct visitors to appropriate locations.Maintain department records by logging incoming calls and dispatches; record and enter traffic citations, case reports, accident reports, and arrest information into department computer systems; maintain police activity records, towed vehicle files, property records, and complete monthly validations of criminal record entries.Generate reports from computer files according to established formats.Enter and confirm warrants and maintain active warrant files.Notify officers of Hamilton County Municipal Court, Butler County Municipal Court, and Sharonville Mayor's Court appearances and maintain associated records.Accept payouts, continuances, and bonds for Mayor's Court in the absence of court personnel.Passing Score:
