Physical Therapist Assistant - Miami Twsp PT/OT Center - Part Time - Days

Job SummaryAdminister patient care under direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist. Assist with departmental tasks for smooth operations.
Responsibilities- Perform patient treatment, including exercise programs designed by the licensed physical therapist. This includes instruction of home exercise programs, administering treatments safely, and changing the program upon approval by the physical therapist.
- Provide ambulation training with patients using assistive devices as needed, demonstrating procedures and giving verbal cueing. Follow safety protocol using a gait belt.
- Administer modality treatments, prepare patients for treatment, and ensure proper positioning, preserving patient modesty.
- Communicate with the physical therapist regarding patient treatment response, inquiries about procedures, changes in program, and equipment.
- Communicate essential information to other health care providers.
- Complete documentation: progress notes, charge sheets, performance improvement studies.
- Supervise interns (when assigned) and schedule patient treatment times.
- Attend department meetings, in‑services, and maintain a clean work environment.
- Assess and complete patients’ charges and include necessary information on charge sheets. Contact companies to order equipment.
- Complete infection control procedures and promote a positive work atmosphere.
- Use the hospital information system appropriately.
- Participate in departmental in‑services, student in‑services, program development, PM&R in‑services, and interdepartmental meetings.
- Attend continuing education courses required by the State of Ohio.
- Adhere to customer relations standards, representing the department, self, and hospital positively.
- Attend continuing education programs to increase competency in effectively treating, interacting, and communicating with different patient populations.
- Education:
Associate degree, major in Physical Therapist Assistant. - Experience:
Entry level. - Skills and Knowledge:
Personable, good communication skills. - Licenses &
Certifications:
Licensed by the State of Ohio; CPR certified.
