Medical Assistants are eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities- Under the direction of the provider, contribute to the completion of the patient’s chief complaint and documentation of vital signs.
- Identify significant changes in patient condition through data collection and report them to the provider.
- Understand and adhere to the legal responsibilities and requirements within the Medical Assistant role.
- Participate in planning and implementing care for patients within the scope of Medical Assisting practice.
- Troubleshoot issues and elevate problems to the provider, supervisor, or appropriate resource.
- Demonstrate standards of excellence in all interactions with internal and external customers.
- Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines per state guidelines.
- Perform casting duties as per state regulations and certification requirements.
- Document in EMR accurately and appropriately; manage MyChart requests and incoming patient calls; manage in-basket messages per provider instructions.
- Order supplies appropriately, track referrals, labs, diagnostic tests, and dispose contaminated supplies.
- Medical Assisting certification within 12 months of placement (Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, or acceptable assessment-based recognition in Order Entry).
- BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, required prior to independent patient care).
- High school diploma or preferred vocational/technical degree in medical assisting.
- Enrollment in an approved Medical Assistant program (required within 30 days of employment).
- Minimum one year of healthcare experience (or 24 months clerical physician practice experience).
