Shifts: 11:30am-8pm EST and 1:30pm-10pm EST

Hybrid 1: This role requires associates to be in-office 1-2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office. The Pharmacist is responsible to perform the duties of a licensed pharmacist. Ensure processing accurate and quality pharmaceutical processes, patient management, and supports core clinical programs such as patient assessments, DUR, and tasks related to the Clinical Management Program. Ensures adherence to laws and regulations governing the sale of pharmaceuticals, and maintains compliance with State Board of Pharmacy regulations as well as local, state, and federal requirements as it pertains to prescriptions.

You Will Make An Impact
  • Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance.
  • Receives and reviews prescriptions issued by prescribing practitioner to assure accuracy, appropriateness of medication, and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
  • Ensures compliance with laws governing the practice of pharmacy and distribution of drugs.
  • Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interaction, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
  • Engages in consultation with prescriber regarding interpretation of prescription information as needed.
  • Ensures that stock and supplies necessary for customer care are ordered, stored, and handled in an organized and efficient manner in the absence of the Lead Pharmacist and/or manager if needed.
  • Prepares, fills, and compounds drugs and orders by prescribers and other authorized personnel.
  • Offers free counseling to customers on how to use devices such as blood pressure or diabetes monitors.
  • Strives to improve efficiency and reduce costs in pharmacy area.
  • Plans, implements, and maintains procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements, and ensures quality, security, and proper disposal.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires BA/BS degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D and minimum of 1 year experience working as a Pharmacist; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Valid Registered Pharmacist license required.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities And Experiences
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Pharmacist in a retail or clinical setting preferred.
  • Specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Experience with pharmacy adjudication platform strongly preferred.
  • Experience working a phone queue preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.

For Carelon Health business unit, National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) verified is required for this position, as per applicable state guidelines.

For candidates working in person or virtually in Columbus, Ohio, the salary range for this position is $114,800 to $172,200.
