Heart & Vascular Sonographer

Join our team to perform non‑invasive ultrasound in the modalities of vascular and echocardiography. • Perform non‑invasive vascular and/or echo testing and fulfill all duties expected in this role.
• Follow established testing protocols and produce high‑quality study images and data by demonstrating competence in using all imaging and accessory equipment.
• Obtain an appropriate history prior to each test with each patient.
• Ensure supporting information and documentation for the exam being performed.
• Utilize ultrasound technology knowledge to determine if an order revision is appropriate and notify the appropriate individual.
• Adequately explain testing procedures to patients, family members, and hospital staff members connected to patient care.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with clients and co‑workers.
• Efficiently provide services and collaborate with peers to achieve maximum productivity.
• Effectively schedule add‑on and emergency exams to maintain workflow.
• Communicate with patient care areas to properly prep patients and ensure timely patient retrieval.
• Keep assigned areas clean and ensure an adequate stock of supplies.
• Communicate equipment maintenance needs to the Lead and operate equipment safely and properly.
• Follow Quality Control standards and participate in departmental process improvement activities.
• Participate in Peer Review and other departmental Process Improvement expectations as requested.
• Stay updated on new or revised testing protocols and maintain professional continuing education as required for licensure or certification.
• Comply with annual hospital and departmental safety, education, and in‑service requirements on a timely basis.
• Attend department meetings and share responsibility for the agenda.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with hospital management, physicians, and technologists.
• Current knowledge of technology and clinical advances related to cardiac and/or vascular sonography.
• Working knowledge of accreditation, credentialing, and quality assurance procedures.
• Basic understanding of imager configuration, DICOM standards, networking, and medical records.

• Graduate from an accredited Ultrasound training program.
• Maintain continuing education requirements as set forth by ARDMS, CCI, ICAVL, and ICAE.

• ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or CCI Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS).
• BLS (American Heart Association).
