The Department of Neurology & Rehabilitation Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Advanced Practice Provider (APP), Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant specializing in evaluation and treatment of neurological diseases, particularly in the Neuro Critical Care inpatient setting. Weekend and Overnight coverage is required. Call coverage may also be required.
Essential Functions
- Perform appropriate history and physical for complex, acute, critical, and chronically ill patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
- Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
- Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
- Maintain accurate medical records.
- Collaborate with other providers and members of the health care team in delivery of care and make appropriate referrals when needed.
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans.
- Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making using evidence-based practice.
- Participate in research and development projects.
- Participate in education of nurse practitioners, nurse practitioner students and medical students.

Minimum Requirements
Nurse Practitioner:
Required Education
Master?s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program.
Required Experience
Three (3) years nursing experience; additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty.
Required Trainings/Certifications
Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority.
Active Board Certification in appropriate nursing specialty.

Physician Assistant:
Required Education
Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Required Trainings/Certifications
Active Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority.
Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
