The RoleWe are seeking a motivated and meticulous Lab Technician to join our growing team at our facility located in the Life Sci KY Center in Covington, Kentucky, right across the bridge from Cincinnati. Fertility treatment is an extremely challenging experience for women and prospective parents everywhere. This is a unique opportunity to work on a life-changing new technology that provides these patients with clarity and hope while learning cutting‑edge techniques in stem cell culture and organoid medicine.
The Lab Technician will run assays under the guidance of the Lab Manager. The Lab Technician plays a critical role in ensuring efficient laboratory workflows, high‑quality data collection, and the overall success of Simbryo’s mission, which is providing comprehensive endometrial fertility diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare reagents, media, and patient samples to support timely execution of experiments.
- Perform organoid‑based assays and other laboratory experiments on patient samples.
- Record, analyze, and report experimental results accurately and on schedule to the Lab Manager.
- Assist in maintaining and organizing laboratory equipment, work spaces, and supplies.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with CLIA regulations.
- Collaborate with laboratory team to ensure smooth workflows and timely project completion.
- Support the Lab Manager and Lead Scientist with additional laboratory tasks as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in biological science with 1+ years experience or Associate’s degree with 3+ years experience in mammalian cell culture (stem‑cell culture preferred)
- Eager to learn and is curious and proactive.
- Exceptionally detail‑oriented and able to carry out complex experiments accurately.
- Thrives in a fast‑paced environment; can manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing; maintains meticulous records.
- Works collaboratively with a positive and enthusiastic attitude; can assist in training or mentoring junior lab staff as needed.
- Operates in full adherence to CLIA and laboratory safety standards (training provided).
- Comfort with the physical requirements of the job—prolonged periods of standing while performing bench‑based experimental work.
- Prior experience in a biotech startup or industry‑based laboratory setting is highly desirable.
