Position Summary
The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator for the Qualitative Methods and Analysis Collaborative (QMAC) serves as the central operational, project management, and financial management lead for a mission-driven, institutionally recognized shared research facility. QMAC provides consultation, resources, and hands-on support in qualitative and participatory research design, data collection, and analysis for investigators across Cincinnati Children's and external academic partners.
Unlike traditional CRC roles focused on direct study conduct, this position emphasizes program operations, service delivery coordination, stakeholder engagement, budgeting, and workforce supervision across a diverse portfolio of investigator-initiated projects. The Senior CRC acts as the single point of contact for QMAC services, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and financially sustainable delivery of qualitative research support.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Operational Leadership

* Collaborate with QMAC faculty directors to design, implement, and continuously refine program operations in alignment with QMAC's mission and business plan.
* Direct and coordinate day-to-day operations of a shared research facility supporting multiple concurrent projects at varying stages of development, ensuring deliverables are met within defined scope, timelines, and budgets
* Facilitate and participate in meetings at the project, program, divisional, and institutional levels; communicate project status, risks, and resource needs clearly and proactively.
Project Management & Service Delivery
* Oversee intake, triage, and tracking of incoming QMAC service requests, ensuring appropriate scoping, prioritization, and assignment of work across the team.
* Develop statements of work (SOWs), cost estimates, timelines, and deliverables for qualitative research services in collaboration with faculty and methodologists.
* Monitor progress across a portfolio of qualitative research projects, proactively identifying operational barriers and implementing solutions to maintain momentum and quality.
* Ensure consistent application of standardized workflows, templates, and documentation across projects.
Financial & Grant Management
* Manage invoicing and billing for QMAC services, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with institutional policies.
* Partner with financial analysts to track revenue and expenses, develop financial reports, and monitor projections against actuals.
* Create and manage annual fiscal year budgets and business plans for divisional and institutional review and approval.
* Collaborate with investigators and QMAC faculty on grant-related activities, including:
* Developing budget justifications and facilities sections
* Reviewing grant proposals to assess QMAC resource needs
* Estimating effort and costs for qualitative research services
Personnel Supervision & Workforce Development
* Supervise a multidisciplinary team spanning student employees through senior research staff, including onboarding, training, delegation of work, performance monitoring, and coaching.
* Support staff professional development and career advancement within the clinical research and qualitative research workforce.
* Lead hiring and onboarding processes for QMAC personnel in collaboration with institutional partners.
Process Improvement & Quality Management
* Develop, document, and maintain SOPs, templates, and reference materials to support consistent, high-quality service delivery.
* Identify opportunities for operational improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency, transparency, and investigator experience.
* Ensure appropriate documentation of program activities, financial transactions, and operational metrics.
Regulatory & Research Oversight (Applied at Program Level)
* Serve as a resource for regulatory and institutional compliance as it relates to qualitative research services, shared resources, and investigator support.
* Apply institutional policies and best practices to ensure ethical, compliant support of human subjects research across QMAC-supported projects.
