Job Overview

Assist the physician in patient examination and treatment, performing delegated duties under physician direction. Interview patients, measure vital signs, record chart information, and prepare examination rooms. Provide cross‑training to enhance efficiency and continuity of patient care within a team environment. Responsibilities include patient liaison, medical record maintenance, documentation, and safety/environmental duties.

• Provides support to physicians/clinical staff.
• Skillfully performs/obtains tests and specimens ensuring departmental procedures are followed.
• Performs technical skills according to hospital and department policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
• Maintains a high level of efficiency, organization, and time management to promote productivity.
• Functions successfully with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrates strong written, verbal, and phone skills; courteously respects patients, professionals, and team members.
• Notifies appropriate team members of abnormal test results or emergent situations.
• Accurately documents patient care in charts, maintaining confidentiality and appropriate records.
• Safely maintains the general appearance, cleanliness of exam rooms, supply areas, and nurses station; disposes contaminated equipment per infection control guidelines.

High School Degree, Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS), EKG, Injections, Venipuncture, Performance of common lab tests per CLIA guidelines and Tri Health policy, Up to 1 year experience in a physician office or related setting.
