Mid West Eye Center has a complete roster of board‑certified Ophthalmologists, Retina Specialists and Optometrists, offering diagnosis along with surgical and non‑surgical treatment for eye diseases. Mid West Eye Center’s Cincinnati, Ohio and Northern Kentucky locations are easily accessible from the surrounding Tri‑state area.
We are currently hiring healthcare professionals who are passionate about customer service to join our team as an Ophthalmic Medical Assistant. The Ophthalmic Medical Assistant will support a high‑volume ophthalmic practice that focuses on providing quality and compassionate care to patients in need of complete eye care services. The Ophthalmic Technician/Medical Assistant role is more than a job, it is truly a career. In time you may become a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), Ophthalmic Scribe Certified (OSC) and Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT). We encourage and support these certifications and provide assistance with the certification process. Additional monetary incentives are awarded upon attainment. The field of ophthalmology offers diverse career paths such as clinical training, surgical roles, billing, corporate, and leadership roles as well.

The primary location for this position is at our downtown clinic; however, travel to all locations may be required.
Key Responsibilities & Skills- Obtaining and documenting patient history.
- Determining visual acuity.
- Performing automated refraction.
- Administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by the physician.
- Performing office duties and clinical tasks – entering data into EMR.
- Providing patient services.
- Maintaining equipment and instruments.
- Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required.
- Must be flexible with traveling to various locations as needed.
