Heart & Vascular Sonographer
Our client, an Acute Care Medical Facility company, is looking for a Heart & Vascular Sonographer for their Cincinnati, OH location.
Responsibilities:- Perform non-invasive vascular and/or echo testing and all duties of a Sonographer.
- Follows established testing protocols. Produces highest possible quality study images & data by demonstrating competence on and proper use of all imaging and accessory equipment.
- Obtains an appropriate history prior to each test with each patient.
- Responsible for seeing that there is supporting information and documentation for the exam being performed.
- Employs knowledge of the ultrasound technology to determine if an order revision is appropriate and notifies appropriate individual.
- Adequately explains testing procedures to patients, family members as necessary, and hospital staff members connected to the care of the patient.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with clients and co-workers.
- Responsible for efficient provision of services.
- Works to ensure a collaborative effort with peers to achieve maximum productivity.
- Effectively schedules add-on and emergency exams to maintain work flow.
- Communicates with the patient care areas to properly prep patients and sends for patients in a timely manner.
- Keeps the assigned areas clean and ensures adequate stock of supplies.
- Communicates equipment maintenance needs to the Lead and operates equipment safely and properly.
- Follows Quality Control standards and participates in departmental process improvement activities.
- Participates in Peer Review as requested and other departmental Process Improvement expectations.
- Keeps up to date on new or revised testing protocols and with professional continuing education as required for licensure or certification.
- Is effective in complying with annual hospital and departmental safety, education and in-service requirements on a timely basis.
- Attends department meetings and shares responsibility for agenda.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written / verbal).
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with hospital management, physicians and technologists.
- Current knowledge of technology and clinical advances related to cardia and/or vascular sonography.
- Working knowledge of accreditation, credentialing, and quality assurance procedures.
- Basic understanding of imager configuration, DICOM standards, networking and medical records.
- Graduate from an accredited Ultrasound training program.
- Maintain continuing education requirements as set forth by ARDMS, CCI, ICAVL and ICAE.
- ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or CCI Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS)
- BLS (American Heart Assoc.)
- Minimum of 2 + years ECHO experience;
Registered in modality by CCI or ARDMS. Looking for advanced transthoracic echocardiography skills.
