Registered Echosonographer

Work Schedule: Part Time - (40 hours bi-weekly)

As an Echosongrapher at the Highland District Hospital you will be responsible for performing a full range of echo cardiographic procedures, including Transthoracic Echocardiograms (TTE), Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE), Stress Echocardiography, and Doppler studies. Ensures accurate documentation, completion of required paperwork, and appropriate charge capture for all procedures. Collaborates in the orientation, training, and mentorship of new technologists and students as needed. Actively participates in quality assurance initiatives and continuous process improvement efforts to support optimal patient care and departmental efficiency.

$10K Sign on Bonus - 2 year agreement

• Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program, in Allied Health
• Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree
• RDCS designation from ARDMS or RCS designation from CCI
• Highly developed understanding of cardiac anatomy and hemodynamics
• Clinical experience in a related field
• Clinical hours during training

• Works with the cardiologists/Lead Techs to ensure that the quality standards are being met. Reports any equipment, PACS, or report data issues. Ensures patient safety.
• Timely processing and verification of images and accompanying paperwork and/or computer work such as echo measurements, data entry into reports, critical findings, charging, etc.
• Helps with other department duties as necessary: works with nurses, technicians, and clerical staff and is a team player. Takes call if applicable.
• Demonstrates competency:
  Provides clear and accurate technical images. Takes appropriate and accurate measurements. Able to inject Echo contrast and Agitated Saline per protocol and image appropriately. Conveys to the physician any necessary information.
• Answers phone promptly and communicates with all customers appropriately. Seeks resolutions to requests, whether adding additional testing or needing reports. Explains delays to patients.

Wearing lead aprons for all procedural Echo testing that is required within and/or near X-Ray Generating Equipment.
