Job Overview

Location- Bethesda North Hospital, 10500 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242
- Full‑Time (80 hours bi‑weekly)

Job Requirements- Bachelor’s Degree in Perfusion, or graduate of an ABCP recognized Perfusion Program; equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree.
- CCP Certification in Cardiovascular Perfusion by ABCP or eligible; certification required within 2 years of hire.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS).
- Knowledge of special procedures such as heart bypass, circulatory arrest, and cerebral perfusion.
- Ability to prepare and use these procedures with little or no supervision.
- 2+ years of CVOR perfusion experience.
- Ability to independently manage cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) and cell saver/autotransfusion systems.
- Experience with adult cardiac surgery (CABG, valve repair/replacement), aortic and complex cardiovascular procedures, and ECMO.
- Provide auto transfusion services and support to all surgical specialties throughout Tri Health.
- Preserve, support, or enhance acceptable hemodynamic and physiologic parameters before, during, and after operations using various mechanical life support systems.
- Monitor parameters utilizing blood gas analysis, activated clotting times, and glucose monitoring, and effectively and promptly treat any parameters outside of acceptable limits.
- Maintain adequate tissue perfusion for each patient undergoing open heart or major vascular surgery using the heart‑lung bypass machine.
- Effectively communicate with the surgeon and anesthesiologist during surgery to optimize patient conditions during and after surgery.
- Cooperate and comply with departmental policies regarding on‑call coverage, emergency response times, scheduling, staffing, and teamwork.
