Ultrasonographer – Registered (PRN) – Good Samaritan Western Ridge
Location:
Good Samaritan Western Ridge, 6949 Good Samaritan Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45247.
Work Schedule:
- PRN/Optional

Job Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Allied Health or graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program (Required).
- Experience in Clinical Allied Health.
- For perinatal areas, Nuchal Translucency Testing Certification is required.
- BLS/CPR (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers) required.
- RDMS or ARRT (US) required.
Job Overview:
- This position may exist in hospital imaging departments or in the perinatal specialty area and reports to a physician and/or manager.
- In hospital imaging, the ultrasonographer demonstrates competencies in breast, prostate, neonatal heads, body, abdominal, head/neck, and interventional ultrasound.
- In perinatal specialty, demonstrates competencies in OB procedures.
- In mammography specialty, must demonstrate breast ultrasound and guide ultrasound procedures.
- Responsible for performing quality ultrasound exams, maintaining accurate records, documenting in EMR, collaborating with team members, ensuring quality assurance, and complying with infection prevention procedures.
- Assists clerical staff, maintains a safe work environment, updates job knowledge through educational opportunities, and performs other duties as assigned; travel to additional locations may be required.
- Must maintain RDMS certification and meet continuing education requirements of the registry and ACR/AIUM as appropriate.
Job Responsibilities:
- Consistently produce and evaluate diagnostic sonograms for radiologic interpretation.
- Demonstrate competency through ongoing CBE's.
- Demonstrate knowledge of equipment and operating procedures through CBE's.
- Select proper imaging protocols and follow departmental procedures.
- Maintain cooperative relationships with interdepartmental team members.
- Maintain accurate records through completion of all paperwork.
- Complete work before submitting.
- Provide comfort and care for patients, families, and staff prior to, during, and after procedures.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to emergent situations.
