Your Role as an Activities Assistant
  • Assist in planning, developing, and implementing engaging daily activity programs.
  • Encourage and support resident participation through regular visits and relationship-building.
  • Lead and facilitate group and individual activities as scheduled.
  • Assist in gathering resident interests and contributing to individualized activity care plans.
  • Document resident participation and progress in activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate programs and special events.
  • Participate in resident council meetings and provide support as needed.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for residents.
  • Follow all infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Attend required trainings, in‑services, and team meetings.
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous experience in activities or a healthcare setting preferred, but not required.
  • Energetic, creative, and compassionate personality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to remain calm and patient in emotionally demanding situations.
  • Comfortable working with elderly individuals, including those who may be ill or cognitively impaired.
  • Physically able to stand, walk, bend, and assist residents as needed.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
