The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works under the direction of a Physical Therapist to provide high-quality patient care and support rehabilitation goals. Responsibilities include preparing patients and equipment for treatment, implementing prescribed therapy plans, monitoring patient progress, and documenting care. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication and customer service skills, sound clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while delivering compassionate patient care.
Education/Experience- Must be a graduate of and have a certificate from an American Physical Therapy Association-approved program for Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Must be able to apply the theory of Physical Therapy
- Has the ability and competency to operate the equipment of his or her position and perform technical procedures
- Demonstrates excellent customer service
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem‑solving, problem prevention, and decision‑making skills
- Ability to convey empathy
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain composure and restore calm in a stressful situation
- Uses good judgment and diplomacy when dealing with others
- Desire and ability to work in a team environment
- Help develop and maintain a corporate culture that supports Mayfield Clinics' mission and values.
- Assist in the determination of proper procedures and methods, and assist in the evaluation of the results.
- Ensure the physician's prescription is carried out after evaluation by a physical therapist
- Prepare patients and equipment for treatment
- Must be able to instill confidence in patients, doctors, and personnel.
- Protect and maintain confidential patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
- Must make decisions on his or her own; adapt to emergencies; alert to changes in the patient’s condition; alert to all activities of the facility
