Job Overview
The Medical Simulation Operator will support the 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW) at C-STARS Cincinnati, University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The role involves operating high‑fidelity patient simulators, providing technical and analytical support to simulation‑based training programs, and ensuring equipment readiness and quality instruction.

- Current and maintain a National Registered Paramedic (NRP) certification
- Paramedic‑equivalent medical knowledge (RN level preferred)
- Maintain Basic Life Support – Health Care Provider (BLS‑HCP) certification
- Five years of clinical experience in a military or civilian setting
- At least 2 years of experience programming human patient simulators (Laerdal, Gaumard, CAE)
- Prior experience in course development and educational methodology
- Knowledge of military trauma clinical skills and procedures, including AFMS Clinical Practice Guidelines
- Understanding of Air Force and professional standards; completion of USAFSAM and Department orientation programs
- Non‑Disclosure Agreement with company and provision of a copy to the Program Manager
- Ability to lift < 50 pounds and move simulation equipment under varying conditions
- One year of military medical or deployment experience
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), audio/visual solutions, moulage creation, hyper‑realistic simulators, and task trainers
- Provide technical expertise and support on operating a high‑fidelity patient simulator system
- Assist with developing metrics to validate simulation‑based team training programs
- Support the use of advanced learning technologies and methodologies for medical education and training
- Provide technical and analytic support for the Team Training Program at USAFSAM
- Collaborate with USAFSAM/ET personnel for digital video recording support, equipment maintenance, and scenario design
- Operate LMS and A/V solutions to evaluate learner performance during training events
- Analyze team performance pre‑ and post‑simulation to establish correlations
- Collect and track simulation evaluation tools, and assist with data collection, analysis, and administration of scenarios
- Prepare training environments, operate and recover simulation equipment, and maintain readiness for scheduled training
- Conduct orientation for simulation equipment and provide overview of human patient simulators
- Assist in daily operations and management of the simulation training program
- Develop simulation program validation metrics and recommend improvements for curriculum and equipment
- Collaborate with program analysts, course advisors, and site leadership to identify and address operational needs
- Support simulation scenario review processes and facilitate patient simulation reviews
- Prepare and deliver training, safety, and maintenance materials for simulation equipment
- Attend strategic planning meetings, teleconferences, and conferences related to simulation training
- Provide guidance for simulation center set‑up, site expansion, and high‑fidelity HPS recommendations
- Report needs regarding simulation supplies and equipment to support training objectives
- Operate simulation equipment, task trainers, computerized high‑fidelity simulators, and virtual reality procedural trainers, adjusting scenarios as needed
- Create troubleshooting documents, simulation checklists, lesson plans, and scenarios for program review
- Support USAFSAM simulation research projects within assigned scope
- Coordinate leave and absence requests according to local policy, avoiding missed training dates
- Assist with train‑the‑trainer activities and basic equipment troubleshooting for cadre members
- Participate in operational exercises for professional development and exposure to CCAT mission operations
