Medical Science Liaison, Immunology – Admilparant
Location:
Field – South Ohio, West Virginia
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is responsible for identifying disease and product–related medical needs in a defined geography. The primary role of the MSL is to develop and maintain relationships with Thought Leaders (TLs) and Healthcare Providers (HCPs) within their healthcare system. The role engages in scientific exchange to ensure patients have access to BMS medicines, facilitate safe and appropriate use, and support research efforts.
Key Responsibilities- External Environment and Customer Focus
- Develop and maintain relationships with academic and community research thought leaders, appropriate HCPs, and access stakeholders within a given geography to answer scientific, unsolicited product, and HEOR related questions.
- Engage through various channels (1:1, group presentations, remote, etc.).
- Deliver scientific presentations, ensuring medical accuracy and compliance with local procedures, ethical and legal guidelines.
- Assess the medical landscape and meet with partners to understand their needs and expertise.
- Continuously update knowledge in treatment strategies, products, unmet medical needs, clinical trials, and health economics outcomes research.
- Understand the competitive landscape and prepare to address customers' informational needs.
- Identify opportunities to partner with HCPs on disease state initiatives, collaborative research projects, and investigator–sponsored research (ISR) aligned with BMS strategic objectives.
- Attend medical congresses and local/regional meetings.
- Collect and convey meaningful medical insights to support strategy development and business decisions.
- Contribute to the Medical Plan
- Develop geography‑specific Field Medical and TL interaction plans based on therapeutic area objectives and TL needs.
- Adopt an institution/account planning approach and contribute to cross‑functional institution/account plans.
- Support the development and delivery of scientifically meaningful medical programs/projects aligned with the local Medical and Field Medical plan.
- Provide Medical Support
- Establish a customer‑centric, compliant collaboration with cross‑matrix field teams within the assigned geography.
- Provide scientific support at promotional meetings, evaluate speakers, and support BMS‑contracted speakers as needed.
- Participate in assigned congress activities.
- Support Clinical Trial Activities
- Support interventional and non‑interventional research studies, facilitating site identification and patient recruitment.
- Provide recommendations on study and site feasibility to the clinical development team.
- Assist HCPs in the ISR submission, execution process, and study follow‑up.
- Ensure adherence to BMS Pharmacovigilance procedural documents and alert relevant BMS personnel to any identified adverse events.
- Support CRO‑sponsored studies as defined by the study scope document.
- MD, PharmD, PhD, APP, PA, NP with experience in a specific disease area or a broad medical background and relevant pharmaceutical experience.
- Knowledge of scientific publications, competitive landscape, patient treatment trends, and HEOR core concepts.
- Understanding of clinical trial design and process, national healthcare and access environment.
- Excellent English language skills, spoken and written.
- Minimum of 2 years working in a clinical and/or pharmaceutical environment.
- Prior MSL experience.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Skill in translating scientific or clinical data into a clear, valuable form for physicians.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for engaging HCPs.
- Developing peer‑to‑peer relationships with TLs, scientists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Rapid learning of new subject areas and environments.
- Demonstration of BMS Values.
- Ability to drive a company‑provided vehicle between locations and demonstrate safe, responsible driving.
- Frequent travel.
- Position is field‑based; MSL will be required to live in the territory they manage or within 50 miles of the territory borders.
