Wheelchair Van Driver
Position OverviewWe are seeking dependable, service-oriented professionals to join our team as Wheelchair Van Drivers. In this role, you will provide safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation for patients traveling to scheduled medical appointments, dialysis treatments, hospital discharges, rehabilitation visits, and interfacility transfers.
As a Wheelchair Van Driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring patients arrive safely, on time, and with dignity. This position requires strong time management, attention to safety, and a patient-first mindset. You will serve as a trusted point of contact for patients, their families, healthcare providers, and dispatch while delivering exceptional customer service throughout each transport.

Key Responsibilities- Safely operate a wheelchair-accessible van during scheduled daytime routes
- Transport patients to and from medical appointments, hospitals, dialysis centers, rehabilitation facilities, and other healthcare locations
- Assist patients in and out of the vehicle using proper lifting, securement, and safety procedures
Ensure all wheelchairs and mobility devices are properly secured before transport - Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate service to patients and families
- Maintain punctuality and efficient time management throughout assigned routes
- Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure safety and operational readiness
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized vehicle interior
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and healthcare providers regarding arrival times, delays, or special transport needs
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, HIPAA guidelines, company policies, and traffic laws
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to safely assist patients in and out of the vehicle using proper body mechanics
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable attitude
- Professional appearance and conduct
- Ability to manage a structured daytime schedule with reliability and punctuality
- Previous experience in medical transportation or healthcare is a plus, but not required
- This role is well-suited for individuals who enjoy working independently while being part of a supportive team environment.
