Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Neuroscience
The University of Cincinnati, one of the oldest medical schools in the country, is recruiting for an Assistant, Associate, or Professor level in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience. The department is dedicated to high quality medical student, resident, and fellow education, excellence in patient care, and advancing the science in psychiatry and behavioral neurosciences through clinical trials and ongoing collaborative research.
The essential functions of the position include clinical supervision, mentoring, preceptorships and training of medical students, psychiatry residents, and clinical fellows in mental health related fields. Formal and informal lectures on research design, mood disorders, psychopharmacology, and curriculum evaluations are also required. The candidate will engage in clinical research as principal investigator, co-investigator, and/or sub-investigator in NIH and industry funded studies.
Clinical evaluations, diagnostic assessments, standardized psychometric evaluations, treatment, and follow-up of adults with mood and psychotic disorders as incidental to research are also part of the role. The position offers opportunities for administrative and leadership roles, participation in quality improvement, peer supervision, and formal mentorship.
Minimum requirements include a medical degree (MD or DO), or equivalent, Ohio Clinical Research Faculty Certificate, and completion of 48 months of residency/training in psychiatry. The work environment is an office setting with no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
