Adjunct – Medical Laboratory Technology Generalist Instructor
Cincinnati State Technical and Community College invite applications for an Adjunct – Medical Laboratory Technology Generalist Instructor. This position includes teaching responsibilities for lectures and laboratories in Generalist courses in the Medical Laboratory Technology Program. This position requires an individual that works well with others as a team member to achieve shared vision and goals for the Cincinnati State Medical Laboratory Technology Program.
Essential Duties:
- Prepare and deliver lectures, facilitate classroom discussions.
- Determine materials needed, prepare specimens and facilitate student laboratories.
- Evaluate student performance and assign grades according to program standards.
- Challenge, engage and communicate with students to encourage their participation and learning while maintaining mutual value and respect.
- Promote student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule as well as exhibiting a passion for teaching students and engaging them in the learning process.
- Complete all end of term responsibilities, including submission of final grades, copies of exams, attendance records, and all other designated materials on a timely basis to the Academic Office.
- Consult with program chair or other appropriate College personnel on questions or issues involving course curricula, instructional strategies, and College policies and procedures.
- Respond to requests (e.g., from students, faculty, department heads, committee chairs, Records Office) in a timely and thorough manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a NAACLS accredited MLT program
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP)
- A minimum two (2) years of recent work experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a NAACLS accredited MLS program
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP)
- Minimum of four (4) years of recent work experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist
- Documented experience with active teaching and learning strategies in a community college, professional training or other higher education environment.
