Job Description

. This change reflects our continued commitment to providing comprehensive, person-centered care that addresses the full range of behavioral health needs for Ohioans. All positions and services now fall under the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health as we move forward in serving individuals, families, and communities across the state.

What you’ll do at DBH
  • Peer Support & Encouragement Utilizes personal recovery experience, when appropriate, to promote hope, encouragement, and motivation throughout the recovery process.
  • Group Facilitation & Wellness Education Leads and coordinates recovery-focused groups, teaching coping skills, relaxation techniques, and wellness strategies.
  • Client Mentorship & Advocacy Mentors clients/residents through the recovery process by encouraging empowerment, goal-setting, and self-advocacy.
  • Education & Support Services Educates clients/residents on available peer services, rights processes, advance directives, and supplemental support programs.

This is an hourly position covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of 27 on the OCSEAPay Range Schedule . Working hours are part-time, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM
. This position is located within our Summit Behavioral Healthcare location at 1101 Summit Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45237 .

Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after 120 days of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
