Job Overview

The UC Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Cincinnati has been an independent academic unit within the College of Medicine since 1984. It is responsible for the medical direction of the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Center for Emergency Care (CEC) and the Emergency Medicine Residency Training Program.

The Department of Emergency Medicine, University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking a full-time (100% FTE) Clinical Research Professional to assist in their clinical research. The incumbent will provide support and assistance to the research team in support of clinical research studies. Duties can span a broad range of activities or be primarily focused within one or more areas of the clinical research spectrum.

Position level will be determined at time of hire based on applicant’s qualifications and credentials.

Essential Functions
  • Plan and coordinate clinical research projects.
  • Assist in protocol development and provide input into descriptions of routine research processes.
  • If qualified, manage a team of clinical research coordinators who screen and recruit in the emergency department 24/7, with development related to administrative duties including billing and scheduling.
  • Serves as a primary contact for clinical centers in multi-center research studies, develop study materials – serving to train imaging sites, assure study protocol compliance, screen, recruit, and obtain informed consents for clinical trials/studies.
  • Assist study/trial team with various research related tasks, collect and enter clinical research data required by the sponsors in a timely manner.
  • Utilizes proprietary software for image analysis and segmentation, collect and maintain regulatory documents from subjects and assist in preparation of required regulatory forms and documentation according to protocol.
  • Will work rotating schedule that includes day, evening and night shifts, weekends and holidays.

Minimum Requirements

  • One (1) year experience in a related field

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Health Sciences, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
CRP II

Minimum Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience in a related field.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Health Sciences, or a related field.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
CRP III

Minimum Requirements

  • Five (5) years of experience in a related field.
  • SoCRA/ACRP/RAPS Certification.
