We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacists in ensuring the safe and efficient preparation, distribution, and management of medications across various units (inpatient, outpatient, emergency, operating room).

• Variable shifts between 11:30 AM and 11:30 PM, including:
• 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM
• 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
• 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Weekend rotation: 10:30 AM – 6:00 PM

$5,000 sign‑on bonus with a 12‑month commitment for external qualified candidates only.

• High School Diploma or GED (required);
  Associate or Bachelor's Degree in an approved technical, professional, or vocational program preferred.
• Up to 1 year pharmacy experience required.
• 1–2 years pharmacy experience preferred; prior experience with computer applications and pharmacy automation also preferred.
• Certification through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PCTB) and ExCPT Certification by the National Health career Association (CPhT) required.
• Registered with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician required.

Certified Inpatient Pharmacy Technician I supports pharmacists in ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely distribution of medications to hospitalized patients. Responsibilities include selecting, counting, non‑sterile compounding, packaging, labeling, and delivering medications. The role also involves maintaining inventory, operating pharmacy automation systems, and adhering to safety protocols and regulatory standards.

• Support pharmacists in preparation and distribution of medications, performing technical tasks per department protocols and regulatory standards, demonstrating competency through audits and performance rounding.
• Medication preparation & distribution: select, count, compound (non‑sterile), package, scan, label, fill, and deliver medications in compliance with guidelines.
• Non‑sterile compounding: weigh, measure, and mix ingredients using proper calculations, equipment, and technique, ensuring accuracy and safety.
• Automated dispensing machines: proficient in signing into systems, loading, refilling, unloading, managing expirations, and resolving discrepancies in ADCs.
• Stock orders/emergency carts/boxes: accurately and efficiently fill medication orders and emergency supplies.
• Delivery: ensure timely and accurate delivery of medications via tubing, cart runs, IV runs, and STAT deliveries; verify correct delivery location and proper storage.
• Inventory control: remove medications from automation, perform stock rotation, remove expired medications, reorder/stock low items, assemble medications for dispensing; verify quantity on hand, adjust records, report discrepancies to the buyer; notify buyer of usage trends; recommend PAR level adjustments; use PPE and follow safety protocols; maintain accurate inventory of controlled substances; report unresolved discrepancies to supervisor.
• Adhere to departmental standards: use pharmacy automation and electronic systems effectively; maintain automation systems by changing consumables, cleaning equipment; troubleshoot issues; access patient information, process pharmacy messages, print labels via EHR.
• Communicate professionally with pharmacists, nurses, physicians, patients, and other team members in person, over phone, and in writing; manage requests, triage, escale complex issues; report errors, document, contribute to corrective action plans; demonstrate Tri Health values and safety practices.

Pharmacy Technicians will work daily with chemotherapy and hazardous medications; compounding is a primary duty.
