UC Health is hiring a Full time, Night Shift ALS Paramedic for our Mobile Care team!

The role of a ALS Paramedic for Air Care & Mobile Care (ACMC) builds upon the skills and knowledge base of the advanced life support (ALS) transport Paramedic and acquires a broad and complex field of knowledge and skill that will commensurate with that of a CCP as recognized by the International Board of Specialty Certification (IBSC) Under the supervision of the Medical Director and in collaboration with a Critical Care RN the CCP will provide safe, quality patient care specific to all age groups served.

The CCP will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the appropriate level of patient care according to the applicable state(s) scope of paramedic practice as well as organizational and departmental policies and procedures. In addition, the ACMC CCP is expected to maintain all performance standards of a CCP as outlined by the relevant IBSC and the Commission on Accreditation for Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS).

Qualifications

Minimum

Required:

High school graduate or GED. | Preferred:
Current Ohio Paramedic certification required National Registry.

Required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required upon hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within initial probationary period.
  • Approved Trauma Life Support course
  • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) to be obtained within probationary period.
  • FEMA 100, 200 courses within initial probationary period.
  • Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or its equivalency (s) must be obtained within probationary period.
  • Active, unrestricted Driver’s License with no more than 4 accrued points

One year of Emergency Medical Service experience as a Paramedic preferred. Military medical/paramedicine experience considered. UC Health Emergency Medical Services Cohort experience considered. Inter-facility transport experience preferred. Two years’ experience driving an ambulance preferred.

  • NRP (American Academy of Pediatrics) within 1 year of hire
  • Approved trauma course
  • FEMA 100, 200
  • Emergency Vehicle Operations or its equivalent
  • Completes mandatory annual education training for unit specific, hospital, and safety
  • Completes EKG test upon hire and annually with a passing score
  • Performs diverse duties involving an extensive knowledge of protocols, medical techniques, equipment, and the use of a wide range of procedures
  • Requires the use of judgment in the analysis of facts and circumstances
  • Ability to make independent, clinically and operationally competent decisions in a challenging environment.
