Position: Overnight Valet Attendant - Renaissance Cincinnati

Job Details

Compensation:
The hourly base pay range for this position is $10 per hour plus $5 per hour in shift differential (12am-6am) plus $5-$10 per hour in tips.

Work Schedule:

The work schedule for this position is 11pm-7am.

Benefits:

Summary

The Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner. This includes parking and retrieving guest vehicles safely, assisting guests with luggage, and delivering overall support during arrival and departure.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers, and clients.
  • Acknowledge and greet guests within five feet using a professional and friendly manner.
  • Use guest last names during interactions.
  • Use salutation of the day, welcome guests to the location, practice proper phone etiquette, and stay if not completing tasks.
  • Parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously; assists guests with bell services and luggage storage; opens all vehicle and hotel doors for guests.
  • Assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries; provide information about outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, and main attractions; deliver messages, items, or guest amenities as requested; shuttle guests to approved locations.
  • Explain parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival; issue claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys; collect claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys; maintain all ticket information including key tag, guest folio, vehicle location, damage survey, and claim check receipt.
  • Consistently calculate and collect revenue for vehicles when needed.

The total amount of time spent on all functions of the job is 100%.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Licensure, Certification, etc.: Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state of employment or within a commutable distance.

Work Experience: One (1) month related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.

Skills: Ability to read and write standard English; comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations; add and subtract three-digit numbers and perform multiplication and division with 10’s and 100’s, using units of American money; understand 24‑hour and military time systems; understand applicable rates; operate a manual transmission (highly desirable);

perform parallel parking.

Authority to Act

The job is routine with established practices and procedures. Duties are performed with specific directions and checked frequently. Decisions are made within operational instructions and departmental guidelines. Errors in judgment could affect smooth and efficient operation.

The employee has control only over the resources available.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Employees regularly talk or hear; frequently sit or stand for extended periods; may run, walk, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, and focus adjustment. Lifting may involve up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, or up to 20 pounds constantly.

The majority of work is outdoors for extended periods, including extreme heat and cold weather conditions. Protection from weather may be provided. Up to 5% travel may be required.
