Position ProfileUnder the leadership of the Executive Housekeeper or the Director of Housekeeping, the Executive Housekeeper is responsible for supervision and direction of all housekeeping activities in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring the highest level of cleanliness, maintaining guest satisfaction, protecting assets, and minimizing expenses.
Essential Responsibilities- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met; document and report any issues.
- Train and supervise housekeeping staff on cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and guest service standards.
- Address and resolve guest complaints regarding housekeeping services promptly and professionally.
- Assist in managing cleaning supplies and maintain inventory levels to ensure materials are available.
- Collaborate closely with other departments, such as maintenance and front desk, to ensure rooms are ready for guests and operations run smoothly.
- Conduct regular audits and spot checks to ensure quality control and consistency among housekeeping staff.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Rooms Management or a related management position. Hotel experience preferred. Strong leadership qualities, the ability to motivate staff, and excellent communication skills. Ability to make effective decisions under pressure and resolve conflicts. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as needed by the business.
Physical DemandsPhysical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs; ability to push and pull carts; good vision for detailed inspection; manual dexterity for handling equipment and machinery in a hot, humid, and noisy environment where chemicals are used.
