Hotel Assistant General Manager
We are seeking an energetic, hands‑on Assistant General Manager (AGM) to support daily hotel operations, lead department teams, and ensure an exceptional guest experience. The AGM assists the General Manager in driving profitability, maintaining brand and safety standards, developing staff, and ensuring smooth, efficient hotel performance across all departments.
Position OverviewThe Assistant General Manager oversees routine operational tasks, supervises staff, and ensures guest satisfaction while supporting housekeeping, maintenance, front desk, and night audit. This role helps manage budgets, training, staffing, and property inspections, and serves as Manager‑on‑Duty when scheduled. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, problem‑solver, and team leader who thrives in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support daily hotel operations and supervise housekeeping, maintenance, front desk, laundry, and houseman teams.
- Ensure guests receive prompt, professional, and courteous service; resolve guest concerns quickly and effectively.
- Maintain compliance with hotel policies, brand standards, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
- Assist with hiring, training, coaching, and developing staff to ensure strong performance and teamwork.
- Participate in Manager‑on‑Duty (MOD) coverage, responding to guest and employee emergencies as needed.
- Conduct daily and weekly property inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper maintenance.
- Support budget management, financial reporting, inventory control, and revenue‑related tasks.
- Review operating and sales reports with the General Manager and department heads; recommend improvements.
- Ensure proper staffing levels, scheduling, and communication across all departments.
- Maintain professional appearance, reliable attendance, and a positive, service‑driven attitude.
- Uphold key control standards, safety procedures, and proper use of equipment and supplies.
- Build strong working relationships with staff, vendors, and guests to support smooth operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager or corporate leadership.
- Supervisory experience in hospitality management required.
- Strong customer service and guest relations skills.
- Proficient in budgeting, financial reporting, and basic revenue management.
- Knowledge of hotel operations, HR practices, and safety standards.
- Familiarity with front desk systems, multi‑line phones, and Microsoft Word/Excel.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
- Ability to remain calm, objective, and effective in high‑pressure situations.
- Night audit experience and bilingual abilities are a plus.
