The Human Resources Manager serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership and supports enterprise-level people strategy through oversight of employee relations, talent acquisition and development, compensation, compliance, internal communications, and organizational preparedness. This role ensures consistent, compliant, and scalable people practices while enabling leaders and HR team members to execute effectively across the organization.

Key Responsibilities Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
  • Lead recruiting projections and workforce planning in partnership with leadership
  • Monitor applicant flow, hiring trends, and external labor market conditions
  • Identify risks or gaps in recruiting pace and proactively communicate concerns
  • Oversee recruiting strategy, advertising channels, and vendor partnerships (e.g., Indeed, Glassdoor, Handshake)
  • Manage recruiting spend to maximize ROI
    - This includes online job boards, recruiting supplies, hiring events, etc.
  • Oversee recruiting operations, including job postings, career fairs, and recruiting coordination
Employee Relations & Legal Risk Management
  • Serve as primary owner of escalated employee relations matters
  • Lead response to employee complaints, disputes, and formal allegations, including discrimination and retaliation claims
  • Partner directly with legal counsel to investigate issues and craft company responses
  • Ensure responses are consistent, defensible, and aligned with company values
  • Proactively advise and coach leaders on sensitive situations to reduce escalation risk
  • Establish and reinforce consistent practices across departments
Performance Management, Talent Systems & Calibration
  • Design and oversee Right People, Right Seats (RPRS) grading frameworks
  • Ensure performance evaluation includes both objective and subjective measures
  • Lead talent calibration discussions to promote consistency and fairness
  • Partner with department leaders to define role expectations and performance standards
  • Ensure alignment between talent systems, development efforts, and leadership expectations
  • Oversee the Plant Improvement Program and its continued evolution
  • Build core positions action plans for underperforming employees
  • Partner with operations leadership to strengthen standards and accountability
  • Ensure continuous elevation of performance expectations across plant operations
  • Conduct compensation reviews and market studies
  • Assess internal equity and external competitiveness
  • Advise leadership on compensation adjustments and risk areas
  • Support pay practices that align with attraction, retention, and performance goals
Training, Development & Onboarding
  • Provide direction and support to the Training & Development function, including leadership and operational training
  • Ensure training initiatives align with company leadership philosophy and foundational attributes
  • Oversee development of structured onboarding and training frameworks for core positions
  • Ensure consistency and scalability of training programs across locations
  • Lead and support HR team members across:
    • Training & Development / Events
    • Recruiting Operations
    • HR Analytics and Talent Data
  • Set priorities, clarify expectations, and ensure team members have needed resources
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and alignment across HR functions
Compliance, Policy & Governance
  • Oversee employee handbook governance and policy development
  • Decision-maker on any disputed background check questions involving criminal or credit
  • Ensure policies are legally compliant, consistently applied, and aligned with company values
  • Interpret policies and provide guidance to leaders and HR team members
  • Write official job descriptions
  • Partner with legal counsel on policy updates and compliance matters
Qualifications & Capabilities
  • 8+ years of progressive HR leadership in multi-location operations.
  • Experience managing an HR team
  • Advanced employee relations and employment-law risk management experience.
  • Strategic workforce planning and recruiting oversight using data and market trends.
  • Ownership of performance management and talent calibration frameworks.
  • Compensation strategy, policy governance, and compliance leadership experience.
  • Operational HR leader with proven change
