Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & StaffingDevelop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified clinical and non-clinical staff.
Oversee hiring processes for nurses, CNAs, therapists, dietary, housekeeping, and administrative staff.
Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs.
Maintain appropriate staffing levels in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Serve as a trusted advisor to management and staff.
Investigate employee complaints and workplace concerns.
Facilitate conflict resolution and corrective action processes.
Promote employee engagement and retention initiatives.
Ensure compliance with employment laws including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA, and state labor regulations.
Maintain personnel files and documentation in accordance with healthcare regulations.
Support facility compliance with CMS and state survey requirements.
Develop and update HR policies and procedures.
Administer employee compensation programs.
Manage employee benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, PTO, and leave programs.
Conduct wage and salary surveys to ensure competitive pay practices.
Coordinate mandatory in-service training and continuing education.
Ensure compliance with state-mandated training requirements for long-term care staff.
Support leadership development and succession planning.
Oversee payroll processing and timekeeping systems.
Maintain HRIS systems and employee records.
Generate HR reports for leadership and regulatory agencies.
Support workplace safety initiatives in collaboration with nursing leadership.
Manage workers’ compensation claims.
Assist in developing infection control and emergency preparedness policies.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience:
3–5+ years of progressive HR experience.
Experience in healthcare, preferably in long-term care, skilled nursing, or assisted living settings.
Experience with union environments (if applicable) preferred.
Certifications (Preferred):
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP
PHR or SPHR
Strong knowledge of employment law and healthcare regulations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems.
