Payroll Specialist (Part-Time)

Northern Kentucky
Pay: $28–$42/hour
Schedule:
Part-time (approximately 12–20 hours/week)

Overview Our client is seeking a part-time Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations in a fast-paced environment. This role focuses on ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining compliance, and supporting employees with payroll-related inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Process weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Review and validate timekeeping records for completeness and accuracy
- Maintain and update employee payroll records (new hires, terminations, changes)
- Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and adjustments
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Assist with payroll tax reporting and documentation
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and collaborate with HR and finance teams
- Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, deductions, and tax with holdings
- Support payroll audits and maintain organized payroll documentation
- Maintain payroll data in HRIS/payroll systems
Qualifications
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance standards
- Experience with payroll systems (ADP or similar preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with multi-state payroll is a plus
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with HRIS/payroll systems
- Ability to handle high-volume payroll in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
