Human Resources (HR) Generalist

Description

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Generalist to join a respected non-profit agency on a Contract basis. This position will work closely with leaders, faculty, and staff to support day-to-day HR operations, strengthen employee engagement, and help maintain compliant and efficient people practices. The role is well suited for an individual who brings broad HR knowledge, sound judgment, and practical experience using Paylocity to manage payroll, benefits, employee data, and reporting.

Responsibilities:

- Advise managers and employees on workplace matters, helping resolve employee relations concerns while aligning actions with applicable employment regulations and organizational policies.

- Support performance-related processes by assisting leaders with coaching conversations, corrective action documentation, and employee development planning.

- Lead recruiting coordination from job posting through interview scheduling and onboarding logistics to help attract and onboard strong talent.

- Deliver a smooth onboarding experience by organizing onboarding activities, orientation sessions, and required employment documentation.

- Maintain accurate HR records, including employee status changes, compensation updates, and other personnel documentation within HR systems.

- Process and review payroll information in Paylocity to promote timely, accurate pay practices and proper recordkeeping.

- Administer benefits programs such as medical, dental, vision, retirement, and leave offerings while responding to employee questions and vendor-related issues.

- Produce HR and payroll reports, analyze workforce data, and assist with audits, compliance reporting, and policy documentation updates.

- Provide support for leave administration, accommodation tracking, diversity initiatives, and employee engagement efforts across the institution.

- Troubleshoot employee self-service access and other Paylocity-related issues to improve system usability and service quality.

Requirements - At least 3 years of broad human resources experience in a generalist capacity.

- Practical, hands-on experience using Paylocity for payroll processing and HR administration.

- Background supporting employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, and day-to-day HR operations.

- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment law and related compliance obligations.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records.

- Effective written and verbal communication skills with a detail-oriented, service-oriented approach.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel for reporting and data review.

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Talent Match®
