Job Description

The Total Rewards Specialist serves as a dedicated resource for team members by providing guidance, education, and support related to benefits and Total Rewards programs. This role helps team members understand benefit options, access available resources, and resolve benefit-related concerns by partnering with vendors and internal stakeholders. The Total Rewards Specialist contributes to a positive team member experience through responsive service, effective communication, and ongoing support.

Responsibilities

Team Member Support, Education, and Benefits Guidance

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for team members regarding Total Rewards programs, including health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, and related resources.
  • Provides education and guidance to help team members understand, enroll in, and utilize available benefits.
  • Responds to inquiries from team members, leaders, retirees, and family members regarding eligibility, coverage, enrollment, life events, and program administration.
  • Delivers proactive outreach and education to improve Total Rewards awareness, utilization, and the overall team member experience.
  • Supports new hire onboarding and annual enrollment activities through education, guidance, and issue resolution.
  • Interprets and explains Total Rewards policies, procedures, and plan provisions in a clear, customer-focused manner.
  • Maintains knowledge of Total Rewards programs, policies, and processes to provide accurate support and guidance.

Case Management and Issue Resolution

  • Assists team members with benefits-related questions and concerns from initial inquiry through resolution.
  • Researches and resolves benefits-related issues in partnership with vendors, Payroll, HR, and other internal departments.
  • Coordinates with benefit vendors and third-party administrators to address team member questions and service concerns.
  • Documents interactions, cases, and resolutions in accordance with established procedures and service standards.
  • Monitors unresolved issues, provides timely follow-up, and escalates concerns as appropriate to ensure satisfactory outcomes.
  • Identifies trends in inquiries and service issues and recommends process improvements.
  • Collaborates with HR, Payroll, Leave Administration, Recruiting, and vendor partners to ensure seamless service delivery.

Benefits Administration and Operational Support

  • Assists with benefit enrollment processing, eligibility administration, dependent verification, and life event transactions.
  • Reviews and audits benefit-related data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Supports annual enrollment planning, testing, communication, and execution activities.
  • Assists with vendor file reconciliation, reporting, and data validation.
  • Maintains records and documentation in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assists with implementation of new benefits programs, processes, and technology enhancements.
  • Develops and maintains benefits communications, educational materials, and resource guides.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve team member experience, service delivery, and operational efficiency.
  • Participates in process improvement initiatives and development of standard operating procedures.
  • Supports special projects, audits, and organizational initiatives related to Total Rewards programs.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or business related field preferred or 4 years of related experience.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years of Human Resources experience preferred.
  • Experience using MS Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving, organizational and communication skills required
  • Strong customer service and follow up
