Overview

UC Health is hiring a Full Time Data Architect

The purpose of this position is to function as an advanced technical lead to coordinate, validate and deliver short and long-term enterprise data management initiatives. This individual designs, develops, implements, maintains and continuously refines data warehouse architectures using the Epic Caboodle framework, logical and physical data models, application/transactional interfaces, data integration methods, and end-to-end data flows. This position will need to have a clear understanding of the data and work with key stakeholders to validate accurate results and reconcile discrepancies when necessary.

Qualifications
  • Minimum

    Required:

    Bachelor’s degree.
  • Preferred:
    Master’s Degree.
  • 1-2 Years equivalent experience - Minimum Required.
  • 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience – Preferred.
  • 4 Years equivalent experience can substitute for a BA/BS Degree.
Required Skills And Knowledge
  • Demonstrated experience and highly skilled with database concepts in SQL Server, SSIS, T-SQL, query optimization tools and techniques, data modelling techniques, and relational database design.
  • Good understanding of the features available in SQL Server to achieve a scalable database solution.
  • Experience architecting and building Data Warehouses, Datamarts, and/or Data Lakes.
  • Epic Caboodle Custom Development certification required in first 6 months of employment, existing certification preferred.
  • Machine Learning Model deployment preferred.
  • Programming languages such as Python and C# preferred.
Responsibilities

Job Function:
Development of Data Marts/Warehousing/Scripts

  • Design & document the organization’s enterprise data architecture, collaborating with multiple operational departments and IS&T stakeholders.
  • Custom Epic Caboodle data warehouse development to integrate data into Caboodle from various sources.
  • Custom data warehouse/Datamart development for data that does not integrate with Epic data.
  • Migrate data from legacy systems and external data into Epic Caboodle data warehouse for the development of new solutions.
  • Work with users to automate schedule of reporting and other data driven functions.
  • Work with data requestor or stakeholder to validate the results.
  • Determine and manage workload priorities.

Job Function:
Monitoring and Problem Resolution

  • Apply knowledge of resources, constraints, and organizational values in decision making process.
  • Upgrades to current state versions on Business Intelligence Applications (Epic Cogito Infrastructure, Tableau Server, SAP BO Enterprise, REDCap, etc.) to minimize problems and in accordance with vendor specifications.

Job Function:
Planning

  • Work extensively with department representatives to understand and define their database and/or data mart needs.
  • Work with Data & Analytics staff, department representatives and vendors as necessary to provide technical expertise and assistance in installation, upgrading, and maintenance of new database systems.
  • Work with other department staff to implement databases and migrations to new versions.
