Overview
Akkodis is seeking a Senior Engineer for a Contract with a client in Cincinnati, OH. Candidates must have deep expertise in SQL database administration and modern CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
Rate and Pay DetailsRate Range: $56/hour to $60/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Pay Details: $56.00 to $60.00 per hour
Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain Azure SQL Managed Instance (SQL MI) and Azure SQL Database (PaaS) environments, ensuring security and scalability.
- Implement Dev Ops practices for database changes, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automation for deployment and monitoring.
- Optimize database performance and reliability through proactive tuning, capacity planning, and SRE-style operational support.
- Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools for provisioning, patching, and backup processes.
- Monitor and troubleshoot mission-critical workloads, ensuring high availability and compliance with organizational standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate database solutions with application architectures and cloud services.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5+ years as a SQL Database Administrator, with at least 2+ years working on Azure SQL environments.
- Proven expertise in Azure SQL Managed Instance (SQL MI) and Azure SQL Database (PaaS) administration.
- Hands-on experience with Dev Ops practices, including CI/CD for database changes, Infrastructure-as-Code, and automation.
